Okay so they're not the friendliest. They're not there to make friends they are there to get their job done. Do as they say. Read the signs. Then collect your money. No problem. Just get out of their way they're trying to do their job.

I went over there to waste some aluminum out and the guy was telling me don't try to tell him to do his job I won't be going back there but any of my stuff and I usually get a lot of stuff I rather do my business where people are going to conduct themselves with proper respect the guy's name was Jimmy so try to avoid him at all costs

The employee weighing items was rude. If you asked a question he mumbled a response you could not understand. He threw things down so hard on the scale that they bounced off and flew back at you. You really needed to pay attention or get hit with flying metal. He yelled at me for using a big bag even though he was dumping the items on the scale and the size of bag didn’t matter.

Hubby and I brought a load of scrap metal here. Quick and easy in and out. Pretty fair payout for the load we brought in.

Monopolies should still be illegal. Ben has boughten up yards across the east coast, he will low ball you because you wont be able to find any competition, and he hoards metal until chinese markets go up..

Read the others on rudeness of the employees and as many times that I been there (quite a few) it's just the opposite. From the guy at the scales to the warehouse for small amounts to turn in to the cashier they couldn't be friendlier. I've never met Ben himself but if you were to ask my personal opinion u'd say customer service is first and foremost. As far as the prices go I don't bring in tonnage material so I don't know if I'm getting the best price I have to depend on honesty on their part. If your looking for someone to coddle, hold your hand and kiss you goodbye, then find some place else to go.

Not a friendly bunch. Tried underpaying the guy before us and complaint that some of our stuff was mixed. Took us 4 seconds to fix the mixed up stuff. Make sure you know what they’re weighing or they will give you the lowest price possible. Won’t be going back there.

This place was helpful for me getting rid of 220 feet worth of chainlink and fence posts but be careful because the place has scrap metal everywhere. If you aren't scrapping more money then what a tire patch would cost then it's not worth it. Also better know what you are scrapping and how much to get for it otherwise they will just charge it as mixed tin scrap

Is it possible to give them 0 stars? Totally crooked!! They told me they would give me $121 a ton with their dumpster and I had 11 ton and they only paid me $640 because I had dirt in one of their dumpters---- who knew scrap was a clean job? They were also supposed to bring me two 50 yard dumpsters but instead they brought me three 40 yard dumpsters -- which is more money. Please be careful... I recommend never to do business with this company because they are rude and dont care about your business

Will never return.. employees are rude for no reason. And they dont even know there metal.. tried to drop stainless steel cables (100% positive) it was steel.. they wouldnt allow us because they said it was tin.. went to a different place with the cable they said it was in fact steel and they took it as steel no problem

Be ready for bait and switch would not recommend especially commercial accounts offer 1 thing over the phone, you get there they cut the price, pays half of national average on scrap. Very disappointed as they talked to me like I did not know what my commodity was and obvious they have not a clue on yield recovery and volume.

For the small residential customers this place is awful. I had a bunch of copper wire and copper pipe from home projects as well as some brake rotors and other miscellaneous crap. I arrived and there were no signs of where to go out what to do. When I finally found someone they were tremendously rude. Then I had to find my way into a non-descript warehouse and search for a cart to get my stuff into. After accomplishing this I was able to find the scale where a guy didn't ever bother to say hi but, however did give me a six minute lecture about why I should have separated for him a handful of aluminium wire out of the bunch of copper when a simple hey, next time could you not mix this together would have sufficed. I'll stick to Syracuse materials recovery from now on.

I use Weitzman to get rid of Durable Medical Equipment from my loan closet. Items that are no longer working or safe to use can be recycled here and my program gets additional cash.

What it comes down to for me is responsibly disposing metals. For the occasional need to get rid of some metal and get a little something for it vs pay to dispose of it , its a great option. Turned in an old water heater , used the money to get Dunkin Donuts. Works for me

It usually only takes a few minutes to get through to unload your metal. There's always an employee waiting and happy to tell you where you need to go if you haven't been there before

I apologize for going to Empire Recycling today because they were paying more for the insulated #1 scrap copper I usually bring to you. They paid me for insulated #2. I said, no, that's insulated 1 everywhere else. He said here it's insulated 2. What a ripoff. A complete bait and switch by advertising higher prices and then calling scrap a different classification than it is everywhere else. I will always deal with Weitsman from now on.

Deceptive advertising, regularly changing rules, and treating the customer like their out to cheat them before they even make it to the scale. Take your scrap elsewhere.
