Came in with a super late load, Bob and his crew dropped everything to get us in and out. Mind you, we were there way past a reasonable time for such assistance. No bother to them, can do attitudes. Great guys. Thank you.
- RRichard Nicometo
Called them let them know I was coming from out of town, and I missed the Mt read exit 10a and 10b but on the highway it's one sign that's just 10, so I thought the next exit would be 10b.... yea no.... so I called them back and said I would be 2 mins late and hope they would take us, and they wouldnt.... I didn't have small a amount of garbage scrap....I had bare bright..... never will go here again! Have some decency and common care for your customers!
- bbenjamin noble
Great place for all your metal supply needs... We do fabrication work and powder coating and use there materials.
- MMildred Garcia
First Time here, Warehouse guy helped me with my materials. Surprised at how high copper prices are in this yard. My overall experience and profit here was excellent! Definitely will be back!

IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE GO TO PREMIER >THEY WILL TELL YOU TRut. Steal.st.will scam you. ex,tin aka shredeer mat. $225.00 per ton.scale jumps around in 20 lb incraments.3 trips same car,same,matt.3 sep times in a day,..unloaded weight of vehicle was all diff. each time it supossedly was at 3680lb.empty,2nd trip 3720lb empty, last trip car was scaleed at 4160lb!!! how does same car jump lbs.did my car get faty between trips? less matt in empty car wieghed more each time a 10 lb diff in weight even tin, makes diff in your pay. thiefs!!!
- JJoseph Woodward
They take stuff like brass and just consider it tin? Not the only metal or time this happened. Guy on scale has NO IDEA what metal is what. As for copper,it's worse. I'm glad I don't scrap other metals. All weitsman joints do this. I've been to Hornell NY,Rochester NY and olean NY. All are the same. They screw you and process the metal themselves so they don't have to pay a processor. In short, they only care about money, not their customers.

I have been going to Ben Weitsman for 10+ years to recycle scrap metal. For the most part they seemed to have been fair and accurate up until recently. We brought in a bunch of different things #2 Copper, Dirty Aluminum, Electric Motors, Tin, Compressors ect. After reviewing my ticket I noticed they gave me 1 pound for my Electric Motors (0.32 cents total). I definitely brought in another dryer motor for a fact as I just removed it that day. They clearly took the motor and did not pay me for it. Just be mindful of the people who work there and possibly even weighing everything before hand as their bins and scales cannot possibly be accurate. It was the young kid inside the building who screwed me. Should have been an extra $5-$10 so not a huge deal but if they choose to be that inaccurate with every single person imagine the extra money they make. Makes me wonder if they have been doing this all these years.

Fellow electricians, Do NOT scrap your wire here. Brought in hundreds of pounds of wire with a measured recovery of 58.3% and was originally told that it would be #1 insulated. Guy running the scale calls over his boss and the boss says no way it 30%. Save yourselves the argument and go somewhere where they actually understand wire classification.

Bought my stolen $8k car from a thief for $360 and scrapped it. We're extremely rude to me when I showed up and refused to speak with me or offer any explanation as to how this could have happened The legal title to the car, and my Id's are still in my possession
- JJohn Goebert
They're the best in the area and surrounding area for that matter, due to the fact that they pay the most and have great customer service..!
- TTrain Crazy
I had a wide mix of metals, some very small as I can't in good conscience put them into a landfill. The employee was very patient and thorough, taking probably 5 minutes to process me. Payout was even easier..no line, courteous clerk. Better experience than you might expect. Plus, the grounds were swept clear. No nails or screws in my tires this time.
- SS G
Had never scrapped before, I called beforehand to get the rundown. Customer service was great, explained the bins/carts and what to do. It was pretty intuitive once I got there. I wasn't concerned much about the rates since I was just trying to recycle and clean up my yard. Overall was pleased with how easy everything was. Being open Sunday is a big perk.
- AAriel Hill
So disappointed right now.we just dropped off almost 1000 lbs of steel fencing but because of 2 pieces of aluminum was in it the grumpy man who was just miserable with his job and being rude to multiple customer said it was tin. I will not return and get screwed again. It's a shame cause this has always been our go to scrap yard for almost 20 years, we've never had a problem before and because one employee was miserable you've lost a loyal customer. That might not seem like a lot yet but if he continues that route I'm sure there will be more to follow

Nickel and dime you so bad. I got charged for ice. I got charged for a piece of plastic that was on a chair. Got charged $10 for my wood pallet. Inside do they do not know any of their medals especially copper and stainless steel. This place is only good for dumping 10. The only worker I do enjoy is Joe. The guy outside literally breathes down your neck I could hear him breathe he's so close to me when I'm taking off stuff on my truck I go there every day. He has an attitude he just needs to back off of people and charge them at the window no use getting to an argument with people.
- MMark Altobelli
Brought a cast iron tub that had very little porcelain on it maybe a total of 2 pounds and they wanted to give me tin price instead of short Steel the guys in the back were extremely rude and cocky this place will try to take you for all the extra money you have coming every time I've dealt with these people they were unfair. Anybody that's given this company a good review obviously works for them. I saw them give some guy who barely speaks English $20 for a catalytic converter highway robbery
- DDominick Wollek
Management sux they allow drug use on company grounds they care about profits not safety female swore at me for saying something
- MMike Phillips
Not bad. The guy knew what i had in my truck copper from a roofing job. 85% really cleaned up. Try giving me .10 cents a pound for copper. No way! So i guess i need to hammer off everything at all. I thought was scarp yard?
- BBob Fields
First time there to recycle old snow blower. Easy to drop off. Everyone was courteous. Signage could be better, we missed scales on right as you come down drive.
- RRachel Miller
First visit, (skipped Alpco this time) and it was a mixed experience - the signage over the office needs to be repainted so us newbies can see the Stop on RED, go on Green for the scale. - put a sign next to the scale maybe? The gal in the front office was helpful and nice, as was the guy in the yard where I dropped my tin/mixed stuff - told me to get re-weighed before I got rid of the short steel. My stuff was sorted, or so I thought... turns out that when you take the other materials to the warehouse (aluminum, motors, mixed metal, etc.) it's supposed to be in bins, but I was unaware of that (mine was in bags, and a plastic trash can) and a guy behind me got mad that I hadn't prepared it properly; I apologized for my ignorance and let him go ahead of me. Felt bad that I held up the line, but would have liked to know in advance what I needed to do.... I realize that most of their customers know the protocol, but a couple of signs would have been helpful. (checked their website to see if I missed this info somehow, but it's not there: suggest that they add that, maybe "Before you stop by, read this!" and some tips on identifying scrap metals. Our ignorance increases their bottom line, but you might increase your customer base.)
- SSuzanna Prong
Well organized, staff is helpful, sometimes it gets very busy with long lines due to dbs, drunks and tweakers who don't know what the fk they're doing, are high, don't know how to drive and back up or wait until they get there and then start disassembling and cutting down things with materials that have to go in different piles. Going early in the morning or right after it rains is good because the drunks & tweakers are still in bed.
- BBrad Ahern
Wont ever go here cant even get a straight answer over the phone on what they are paying for painted siding. Told if its clean its $.43 a pound and if dirty $.10 a pound that's a huge jump. Not worth the extra drive to not know if your going to get screwed or not. As much as I hate the local competition I will continue to go there No you may not have my number your employees dont have a clue what they are talking about in not about to get screwed after loading a 1000+ lbs. I'll just continue to go to the competition
- AAlan Aszkler
A professional staff, knowledgeable and very helpful. The have a price list upon request. They make you fell like they appreciate your business and want you to come back with more scrap metal. I'll be back!
- JJerrica Gayken
I’m flabbergasted by the rudeness of their employees. An employees aren’t friendly at all and the pay is terrible compared to other places I’ve been. I’ll travel to Waterloo next time. I’d give them a 0 stars if it let me.
- JJoe Nichols
Every time I've been there,I've had good experience. There employees are very congenial. They always make you feel welcome. There prices are always fair.
- JJohn Mazza
I've been going to this yard for years. The people are always polite and helpful. People like to complain about how they got ripped off for what probably amounts to .50¢ I've never had an issue with the pricing.
- ccaleb conheady
Absolute waste of time. Employees that don't give a damn. They have a strict 'empty/removed' gas can policy. If its not removed it must have a hole it. No one mentioned this on the phone. Not until after i towed the vehicle to the yard. And You can't remove the gas anywhere on premise and they have no tools or means for you to do so yourself. Absolute garbage business sense. Bring your scrap somewhere else in rochester for sure.
- SSteven Still
The gentleman that runs this yard is Robert Frank, he is doing an excellent job and is an extremely pleasant person. Mr Frank is very professional and I recommend anybody that needs to go to a scrap yard... this is the place to go!
- CChristopher Pratt
