I've been there 2 times alone and I am still deciding whether the 2 boys in the garage weighing area think I'm a not so informed female and taking advantage of me or if they plain just don't know there metals, the first time I took a bucket of old heavy thick screws and lag bolts a huge full kitty litter bucket and a old old heavy brass lamp that was hard to lift and carry and they paid me as 12 lbs of aluminum.... 12 lbs of aluminum would have a large volume of space and not fit in my car.uuummmm Today I scrapped 2 old huge heavy tvs that I took apart all night and had a bag of copper from them , on my scale was a bit over 5lbs the bigger pieces I stripped from a black taped up like cord that had the long thick copper inside ,,so after I stripped all the wrapping it should have been type 2 clean copper ,they wrote it up as aluminum ,told me people get aluminum and copper confused alot and I brought up about my brass lamp from previous visit he told me the same thats one heavy huge 12 lb aluminum table lamp wouldn't you say, so today got paid 7 lbs of aluminum,, I won't back a company that takes advantage of females or have employees that don't know there shit enough to be qualified for this job of peoples hard work cleaning up there scrap and getting paid incorrectly. Still not sure of which scenario is the truth here.

A good place to make a little extra bread for stuff you were going to set at the curb anyways. Quick and efficient employees keeps things moving.

I've been going to City Scrap and Salvage for 2 years and I will continue to go to City Scrap and Salvage because of their money that they want to give me for my scrap and because of such nice people bye bye

Besides they have the best prices, bigger machinery, so you can bring bigger scrap, they're a pillar of our community. I'm 44, I remember going there with my neighbor, when I was young. The staff is super polite, which in my experience, the 3 other scraps yards that I've been to and know of, yeah there's no comparison. Friendly knowledgeable, and they get you in and out.

Do NOT use this company The owner is a real piece of work. I was driving down they hiway and some metal came off a truck and messed up my car. The company would not do anything about or give me there insurance info. Please stay away from them. They may not even have insurance I am not sure. I do know they are driving down the roads with unsecured loads. Warning stay away from them

1 star is too many for this place. They'll give you the absolute lowest prices in the area. They'll lie to you and tell you the scrap you have is a specific lower quality, and give you rock bottom prices. I'd sooner throw away my materials than go there again.

Person at the gate was very nice and helpful. What I didn't know is that the amount they gave me for my small foreign OEM catalytic converter was less than 25% of the national average. Found that out after I told someone who was more experienced with scrapping.

This place rocks!! The newly remodeled facility is beautiful, no flat tires on the fresh concrete and asphalt. They pay top prices and the ladies in the office are crazy friendly. There is a drive thru with an ATM machine for payment. Plus everyone recieves a FREE hot or cold drink. Such great service -- it's nuts...

Sketchy business practices. They tried to downgrade some of my materials that were clearly a higher grade. If you have a mixed load of the same material they will lump it all together and give you the lowest price instead of keeping your higher grade material separate from your low grade material. They also didn't let me see the numbers on the scale when they weighed my materials, so you're left hoping the scale guy is being honest when he's typing the weights into the computer. Payout prices are not the best. On the positive side the place is well organized.

This is a pretty much a well-organized scrap yard they will take your aluminum separate from your Steel therefore giving you more for the aluminum and you Steel I recommend if you look into scrap this is the price to go they give you a fair price and it's pretty quick so if you have some old still laying around the yard your house or garage again they will give you a fair price I should like you called in advance and get the price for steel at the time as well as aluminum

Cleanest scrap yard I've ever been to in all of the land...lol! Seriously though.... This place was awesome. I also received the best pay-out for my 170lbs. of brass hinges and door hardware. They actually give you more money by the pound when you have larger amounts of items like these. The only thing I would say negative, is that I strongly feel like Unites States Armed Forces veterans should receive a bonus amount as a thanks.

Giving two stars because of the cleanliness and updated systems used. However, they didn't accurately mark down our over 400 pounds of items, some were worth more than others, instead they bulked it into the cheapest thing and gave us less than $37.00 for the whole load! Not worth it.

Clean and well run facility with friendly and helpful staff. It is the only scrap yard I've evr been to so I don't have anything to compare it to. I am less experienced separating the various non-ferrous metals. I group them the best I can and ask for their help. They have always helped me separate them and they seem to help make sure that I am getting the best rates.

City Scrap & Salvage is a wonderful place to do business! Each and every employee I encountered was helpful and pleasant to me and understood that I was new to scrapping and answered all my questions. The yard and buildings are bright, clean and easy to move around in your vehicle. They go above and beyond with little things like lots of staff, designated and posted areas, signs to help you move around, easy check out with a professionally printed receipt and even a cold bottle of water at the office and a public restroom!

Friendly , fast staff. Reasonable prices on scrap. They do keep up with clearing of metals those you don't get a flat tire. They take a broom , sweep it up. They will help you filter what is what metals.

I've done business with city scrap for years. Not any more. As I pulled in a 4:13 I was approached and told they closed at 4:15. Interesting i told them that I had made it in in time but was told I couldn't scrap the vehicle cause they were closed. Well because of that lazy employee I'll take my business else where.

I'll never forget the hospitality received when visiting City Scrap & Salvage on behalf of conducting business for a local nonprofit. Every employee was super friendly. The owner (caveat: he and I are former grade school classmates) took me on a tour through out the facility. It was really neat to see recycling at its best. They use state of the art implementation. I especially liked their collection of treasures too cool to melt down - they were displayed creatively and were not unlike an archeological history for the city of Akron. Further, my dad and both brothers take their scrap there. All 3 speak very highly of City Scrap & Salvage, too.

This scrap & salvage business is perhaps the most efficiently organized, technologically operated, professionally managed with a well trained staff, that my wife & I have ever visited. It's also fun watching four monstrous dinosaurs feeding on their table scraps!

When I called someone named Steven Katz answered the phone, and I said I had some questions. I then heard him in the background talking to somebody else and I waited a awhile when he finally when back to the phone when he asked if I was still there. I said yes and then he hung up on me. I thought this was very rude and I will for sure not be going there.

Easy to deal with scrap yard no sketchy looking old men that pay with a wad of cash from their pocket. As clean as a scrap yard gets. I sell all my auto scrap to them always a fair price.

Call to get an estimate on scrapping a vehicle for my mom. The lady I spoke to was very rude! She acted like I was bothering her. I asked her to repeat the last thing she said because I couldn't hear her. She was very rude.
