I’ve never been to a scrap yard that doesn’t have a Visible Scale. So as a customer you cannot see your load weight before and after; Sketchy. I’ve brought several different types of metal here but seem to be all listed as Tin @ 35 cents; Sketchy. Most scrap yards have assistance, but this one tells you they can’t help unload. I’m a disabled veteran and it’s hard for us to ask for help. But when we do we really need it. I shouldn’t need to beg when 2 able attendants are standing around. I won’t be going back, if this place is really run by Montgomery county it’s shameful.

I have been here a few times now and it's always a pleasure. Probably one of the cleanest scrap yards I have seen. I man that runs it is always in a happy and upbeat mood. Matter of fact he was in a great mood today also! I highly recommend the business.

I just dropped off 23lbs of aluminum cans and it was real easy. I don’t get the negative comments. Yea sure, google maps is off. Just keep driving straight down the road and you’ll see their sign. Anyone thinking they’ll hit pay dirt dropping off scrap metal, get real. It took very little effort to collect beer and soda cans and set them on their scale. Of course I wasn’t going to collect a fortune. The dude in the office that paid me and the guy that hauled off the cans were super helpful. If you’re into holding on to your cans for awhile and getting a few extra spending bucks every now and then, then use Montgomery County Recycling. After all it’s a local business. They’re making money and you too.

Absolutely the worst recycling center in Clarksville. The old man that runs it, is always mad at the world and rude to everyone. They tried to screw me over today. I took my stuff and left. An I won’t be back. Hopefully more people will do the same. The picture I posted is #2 copper to them. It’s clearly #1 copper.

I have been coming here for months. This place is clean and organized. The staff are nice and professional. They NEVER make me feel uncomfortable which is rare because I easily feel uncomfortable. No other place I will take my scrap to. I took my niece there she loves to watch the claw and they gave her candy. I would recommend to all my friends and family with junk to haul off. They even help you unload it. The owner is very nice and he will explain everything to you with kindness.

Just dropped off a bag of cans. The older gentleman in the office was very nice. It was my first time dropping off cans here. The place looks very clean and organized. I asked him if he takes bike frames and he was very nice and explained the requirements to me. There are signs posted what is excepted and hours of operation. Overall, I will be returning.

I have been doing business with them for almost 12 years while here in Clarksville. Never an issue and the one dispute I had was handled quickly and professionally. I will continue to use MCR for as long as I am here in the area. Thank you for the great customer service. Won't stay in business long around a military post without it!!!
- MMelvin Childers
I took some aluminum cans then and they told me they couldn't take them because I had a few aluminum food cans. I replied your policies must have changed then. Then he points to a sign and I said your policy still could have changed. Then he tells me I have a bad attitude, and I replied no I have a superior attitude and took my cans and left. The policy used to be if you had the paper off the food cans they would take them.
- BBrian Gammage
Great experience and very little wait time. Prices are good and more convenient to drive to. To those complaining, be glad a business buys your metal. It could go in a dump at your tax dollars expense. I have been scrap selling for 12 years and I appreciate all of you at MCR!! 😁
- AAndrea Allsbrooks
Great place!! Fair prices and a great group of guys! After being quoted a 65 dollar pick up fee, I called Montgomery county and was told 25 dollars. Will definitely continue to do business with them!
- JJonathan Roper
Showed up 13 minutes before closing time and got turned away, don’t post a time online if you’re not gonna abide by it. Terrible business
- TThe Digital One
New to the area and tried to call to get an idea of what they would take and what they won't so I'm not wasting my time, unfortunately the man that answered the phone was very inconvenienced by my call and came off very condescending even though I am a one man recycler and wanted to bring what what is profitable for both of us as far as a business relationship goes. I'll be looking elsewhere for my recycling business.
- JJeffrey Sexton
DO NOT TAKE YOUR COPPER HERE!! They tried to short change me almost $200. They claimed that they couldn't read the numbers on the receipt. Enlarge this photo and see if you can you read the numbers. I'm telling everybody that I know in the trades, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!
- DDustin Trombley
My dad and I were bringing aluminum cans to scrap and the guy in the office was really nasty to us. We were respectful the whole time and he accused us of "hustling his customers". A man came up to me while we were unloading our aluminum cans and gave us a box of gutter elbows. The old man in the office said I was hustling his customers. I'm a real estate investor and have no reason to "panhandle" anybody. Don't go here, go somewhere else. You'll be thankful you did.
- DDon Delaney
Rude old man. They don't go by the times they advertise. They may close at 4 or 3:30 who knows. He will let you know when you get there. I won't waste my time again and neither should the rest of Clarksville. Zero stars would be a better review .
- AAdrian Garcia
I called before arriving because I was misled by the address and the man who answered the phone was very rude and hung up on me after I asked a question,I ended up finding the place and dropping off 400 lbs of Aluminum scrap and got a whole 20 dollars for it. This place is bad service and their system is bad because I got ripped off.Never going back again.

- RRanza Connell

- GGregory Anderson
The guys that work there are awesome. I enjoying going there and dropping cans off, it's easy to get in and out of that area. I want to go fish the river down past it but don't know to talk to lol
- JJonathan Caldwell
Best price on scrap in the area. Service was quick and very nice. Everyone I talked to was polite and helpful seeing as it was my first time coming through.
- PPrints Stewart
Clean for a scrap yard....and close are all i can say good sorry. The owner tends to be moody and very picky ... Not all sure on scale's for copper and cans no way all the tubs and baskets are same in lbs. I have also been told i had aluminum Wire and gave 25cents lb sold 20 lbs. Found out it was copper next day took 20 more lbs burning this time and pointing out to owner.... Would not make right😢

Went to unload a water heater copper and cans for a little change and so they wernt in my yard piling up, unloaded the water heater went to unload the cans and was met with hostility that they had wayer in them, of corse, they have been rained on, was .are to shake each can out, found i had full cans as well, was met with hostility that I had full cans, proceeded to remove them to empty, was told take them home, she didn't want to wait for me to complete my task because it incontinence his chair sitting. So I loaded them back up and drove away the rest of the scrap wasnt worth me dealing with him anymore, I recommend going to queen city, this is a regular occurance, the attitude and disrespect.

Doug runs one of the Cleanest Scrap Yards in Middle Tennessee. He has been in business for years and does it right. Respect the rules on his yard and you will find yourself in good company. Act like a fool and you'll get treated in kind. He keeps his equipment in good order and his scales are calibrated regularly, certified and legal for trade. - The Scaleman
- CCassandra Shea
Great place to do business. Always kind and courteous.
- zzachary hatcher
Don't try to call and get prices on your scrap you'll be met with a rude old man who apparently doesn't have time to answer your questions on price for what they do and don't take. Have done a lot of business here but won't be returning
- EEric J.
Old guy in the office was rude and can’t take a joke. From reading pass reviews it seems to be a on going issue that should change. But from the responses they put on there reviews it seems to be part of the culture. I will not return and hope anyone reading takes heed to this. Go some where else!!!!
- MMichael Melton
This guy will rip you off! He's a theif!
- TTrev Combs
Been doing electrical work for several years. When i do collect scrap wire or other scrap metals this is the place to go. You all say he's grumpy but follow the yard rules, dont be ignorant, and good things can happen trust me
- BBrandy Taylor
