I can’t say enough good things about Doc’s Auto Repair. My son was on a road trip when his car broke down after hours in Seaside. We had it towed to Doc’s, and even though it was already a stressful situation, they made the entire process so much easier for us. Over the next couple of days, Doc took the time to inspect the car thoroughly and kept me informed through phone calls, clearly explaining the damage and what it would take to repair it. I really appreciated the honesty and transparency. After I decided the car wasn’t worth fixing, Doc went above and beyond by helping me figure out an inexpensive way to get rid of it. Even more impressive, he didn’t charge me anything for his time and effort. It’s rare to find that level of integrity and kindness these days. If you’re ever in need of an honest, reliable auto shop, I highly recommend Doc’s Auto Repair.

Been here a handful of times. Always honest, informative, and fairly priced. There's been a couple times I've had issues crop up right before important travel plans and they have gotten me in and out and back on the road. Pretty much everything you'd want out of your mechanic.

Doc's is easily the worst auto mechanic I've ever used. They failed to perform recommended service, while performing service that wasn't recommended. The illegally charged $50 to pay with a credit card. They did not provide a report showing what they'd inspected, saying they would call me the next day, but never called me nor provided the report. Despite making an appointment a week beforehand, they were completely unprepared for my arrival. Both the shop and office are filthy and seemingly disorganized. I would never let Doc's touch any of my vehicles ever again. EDIT: Google doesn't permit me to respond to Doc's response, so I'm doing so via this edit. In his response, Doc's admits their processor charges them 4% (well above what I paid for card processing in businesses I owned or managed), which is less than the 5% he charges customers -- one reason his charges are illegal. He also admits he relies on a notice in a messy office, which isn't sufficient notification -- another reason his charges are illegal. And despite charging DOUBLE the labor that a Subaru dealer charged for my 60k service, he failed to do many of the things Subaru recommends for a 90k service, including replacement of the brake fluid and clutch fluid, and inspection of: - belts - fuel system - cooling system - clutch - transmission - brake lines, pads, and discs And while Subaru suggests inspecting the differential fluid, Doc's decided before he looked at my car he was going to replace my differential fluid, which had been replaced only 5k miles earlier, when I had an oil change. To summarize, he overcharges and under-performs, and I wouldn't trust him to work on any vehicle ever again.
