Warning! If you use this company, they will do the job but will rip you off in the process. They take advantage of a poor situation knowing that there are no other options in that area. We had a situation up at the lake and needed a tow. While launching our boat at Spring Campground, which we had done several times before, our truck hit a soft spot in the sand and sunk. My husband could not get it out without help. A tow truck came out. Told my husband he’d charge extra if the boat, a very light sled, was still on the trailer. So we launched the boat. Tow truck driver told my husband he’d charge extra if he had to get wet so my husband jumped in the water and wrapped the cable around the truck frame. Then driver proceed to push a button for less than 60 seconds. The charge… $1,250!!!!! Please be careful and smart when calling this company for service.

WARNING TO OTHER TRUCKING COMPANIES AND OWNER OPERATORS: Our experience with Dowell Towing & Recovery Inc. was one of the worst business situations we have faced. We believe the company used an already difficult roadside situation to generate outrageously inflated towing and storage charges while keeping commercial equipment and cargo under extreme financial pressure. This was NOT a catastrophic accident scene involving hazardous materials, major cleanup, fatalities, or significant property damage. Yet the charges increased to levels that we believe are completely unreasonable and abusive toward a working transportation company. Despite multiple attempts to negotiate professionally, cooperate in good faith, involve insurance representatives, and seek assistance through regulatory channels, the company continued demanding enormous sums while our business suffered operational losses every single day. Truck drivers and carriers should be extremely careful dealing with this company. Request EVERYTHING in writing: full rate sheets, itemized invoices, tow authorizations, storage calculations, photographs, and legal justification for every charge. In our opinion, this situation went far beyond reasonable towing costs and became a severe financial burden placed on a commercial carrier already trying to resolve the matter responsibly. We are continuing to pursue every available legal and regulatory avenue regarding this matter. This statement reflects our honest business experience and opinion

Dave helped us out big time! We got stuck in a snow bank between Crescent Lake and Summit Lake on a backroad, had one bar of service, and he made it out there. Informative, quick, and helped to ensure we got out of the situation. Very kind person, would highly recommend to anyone in need of rescue towing services.
