Lady running the scales is super nice and friendly. They gave me the best prices, way better than DH Griffin or OMNI. The process and directions are pretty simple if you just follow what the signs say.

It's a little confusing if you've never been. You drive onto a scale and there is a loud speaker that will tell you to pull forward. It's hard to hear what they're saying. I just kept driving into the dirt lot until I saw a stop sign in the middle of the scrap yard. Eventually a very friendly guy came over and took a look in the back of my rental truck and directed me to another area. I stayed there for about 10 minutes while they navigated a fork lift to get everything out. I felt like a little kid playing in the dirt! Giant trucks and earth movers everywhere. The most wonderful part of the whole experience was all the giant mountains of shiny silver bales of recycled cans!!! So glittery!!!! He even took the time to explain the process to me. Such a surprisingly fun time dropping off junk! I loved how friendly the whole interaction was!

At least once a month my husband and I show up at Gerdau with a grocery bag full of rinsed catalog cans. The cheerful gentleman weighs them and directs the payment to the charity of our choice. And we drive home to our three ravenous cats who keep us AND Gerdau well supplied with aluminum catfood cans . And Second Presbyterian Church's benevolent funds refreshed.
