Never been there before. Was alittle bit of chaos when I arrived cause like I said I've never been there before and it was super busy. But fortunately they pointed me in the rite direction the whole step of the way. I got way more then I expected out of the scrap I had. The guys were so friendly I even stood there after getting paid and chatted with a few of them for maybe 10 min. Will def be going back there! Highly recommend!!!

M.J.S Metals, just a great place to scrap or purchase some old iron. Pleasure to deal with a nice group of people. I also love the smell of iron in the summer so im sure to be back quite a few times this summer. Also a very clean and organized yard.

In contrast to my treatment at some other scrap metal yards I've always been treated respectfully at MJS Metals. I'm an amateur blacksmith and in constant need of more steel. As a consequence I've visited multiple times. I've always been welcomed back as I think I practice good scrap metal yard etiquette: I wear long pants, sturdy leather gloves, and boots. I stay well away from any activities like truck loading or unloading, and wait for a lull in operations to have any purchases weighed. I don't go near any precarious piles and never attempt to climb them for something I'd like.If you see something heavy you would like to buy they will load it for you with their equipment, just don't expect them to stop loading or unloading a truck, wait your turn.Even though I work at a hardware store and can order in a good variety of steel at a very good discount, the price is still multiple times less at MJS. But remember steel is a commodity; it's price will fluctuate with the market. The price you pay today will vary with the market price for metals. Yes they sell it for more than they buy if for, it's a business. Just one of their pieces of equipment is worth more than my house and land, they need to make a profit; it's not a giant yard sale.Walk in sales are a small fraction of their business and I'm grateful for the privilege of being able to walk the yard, which is not allowed in many places. So if you go: dress appropriately, stay out of the way, wait your turn. Don't ask them to "save" something. It's a busy place. If you don't buy it today someone else will, or or will be put on a outgoing load. Also, realize that some of what comes into the yard is reserved for maintenance of their equipment, of just because it's cool and one of the employees wants it. So, ask where you can and can't go. Have fun, save some money, and don't do anything stupid that will get us all locked out.

This place is the "toilet bowl" of scrap yards. They pay 2-cents/lb for incoming steel, pull anything which is usable off to the side for themselves, and charge the misguided customer who wanders in 20-cents/lb for the utter crap which remains. To add insult to injury they routinely over charge on the already ridiculous prices and treat a customer who is trying to find something in of the junk pile like an unwanted annoyance. Every time I fool myself into believing I just might find something of value in this dump, I could kick myself for again wasting my time poking around rusted junk growing out of the 4 season mud pit.Operating in violation of local zoning ordinances, they just keep paying the fines and continue to function as a wart on the posterior of the community. The only hope is for the local officials or the EPA to shut them down for good, perhaps being replaced by a higher form of life such as a sewage treatment plant.

This is a by weight bulk scrap yard. The staff is helpful. The scale is accurate. They accept all different metals by weight and pay according to prices set by demand in the market. This is not an automotive part scrap yard.

Had a long standing relationship with this place. One of the workers there ruined that by having attitude out of nowhere and then having the gall to come confront me about the review I left. Real classy.
