Navy City Metals JunkYard Reviews
4.2 stars based on 30 reviews- KKylie G Martin
I called and was greeted by Sabrina who had an unprofessional tone and behavior immediately and then continuously over the WEEK long process of NCM trying to find a tow truck driver to retrieve my junk vehicle. I was put in touch with an off-site driver after going over what I needed, named Howie, who wouldn't answer phone calls or call back and then sent a long text with unbusinesslike words about how he did not want to do it. Once I was finally put in touch with the only decent person out of 5 I talked to, Dave came swiftly and sweetly to help me move my car. Received a low amount of cash for the vehicle once weighed. Will not be using these services again.

I love going there with my scrap. Best prices in town and the dock worker for non ferrous is always super helpful
- PPrivate
Low prices for scrap metal and you need to double check your receipt before leaving unless you like getting less than you're owed. Won't be back.
- MMike Iovinelli
Very professional company, with many knowledgeable employees to assist with any need that may come up. It is my opinion if you have any scrap metal needs, this is the place too go!!! Awesome service
- TTimothy Swanson
Good guys Levi always shoots a straight deal always gets it Us in and out of there efficiently we truck a lot of our scrap from South Seattle over to his facility because it's a no hassle deal and very good prices

Huge shout out to Blaine and two other gentlemen whose names I didn’t get for literally tearing apart my car to help me look for my keys that I may have stupidly left in it when I had it hauled. Unfortunately we didn’t find them, but I’m extremely appreciative to him for taking the time to look. Thanks a million Blaine, you’re the best 🙏🏻

Their prices here are an ABSOLUTELY B.S. !!!! If you don't want to get ripped off for your scrap metal make sure you go to American Northwest Recycling !!!!!!
- EElizabeth Stevens
Pretty cool place. Family friends with the owner, Levi. Cool guy for sure. Has always been willing to help out my family in sponsors for some events. Busy for sure, but once you get to know people, it feels like a family just so long you don't get on to too many people's nerves. One of the only warnings I'd give is that you want to be careful of where you are parking and for scrap peices of metal lieing around.

Went to Navy City Metals today after being unceremoniously turned away from American Northwest Recycling yesterday afternoon. Have to say, they were much more pleasant to do business with!! Brought in a variety of different metals and the guys were super cool about it, got everything separated and weighed up pretty quickly. We were in and out of the yard in less than 20 minutes with cash in hand. 100% better than American Northwest, I definitely recommend going to Navy City Metals for all of your scrap recycling!!

My business partner and I make regular trips to the scrap yard, at least once a month, and I want to say that we have had great experiences every time! The one time we had an issue we brought it to the owners attention WHILE WE WERE THERE and all was resolved before we left. Great customer service isn't proven by having zero complaints but in how the complaints are dealt with and resolved. Thank you for consistently aaaannd patiently answering our multitude of questions and educating us without making us feel less than. Much appreciated !!!!

I stopped by here to sell some scrap cobalt I have and what a disorganized mess they have. There is no place to even park safely. The guy asked who was driving my blue car and I told him its mine he rudely told me "you better move it before you get hit" . Apparently a broke down car was rolling backwards and my car was in it's way. If y'all want to avoid that kind of thing then I would suggest you designate some customer parking in your yard. Then after looking at my scrap cobalt the dude said "we dont really buy this stuff anyways" you either do or don't man. I called ahead and asked and was told to stop in. The guy in the front by the scale even said they buy it. This place needs some work on their customer service. Although I will say that it seemed business was pretty good. Very busy place. And the guy at the scale was super polite so I'll give a 2 star .

We were dropping off aluminum cans. We noticed that there were several employees and all of them busy working. My husband parked and went to find out where we were supposed to put the cans and had turned off the pickup. When he returned and tried to start the pickup again it wouldn't start. He went over to a forklift operator and asked if we could get a jump. This guy came right over and was joined by another. They had their own cables and hooked the vehicles together. The pickup still wouldn't start. Come to find out the ground post was loose and turning cherry red when he turned the ignition. So, after these guys got our battery fixed they politely gave my husband directions for unloading the cans. No problems with them, didn't have to wait long for anything. Kudos to Navy City Metals.

The attendants are very nice and helpful. I always walk away with a few bucks and feel good that my metal isn't going to the landfill. If I could change anything it would be that the required driving loop goes through the unloading area and feels stressful and dangerous with the heavy machinery, people coming in with large trucks and people just driving through to complete the loop.

Am I the only one with a good experience of this place? I've called to have 2 vehicles picked up. They did it cheerfully, and offered a very reasonable price even before I asked if they would give me money for my junk cars. I've gone down to look for various things from the yard, and always got all the help I needed. I even had a couple of guys push me to pop the clutch before that junk car finally quit running altogether!

I've been coming here for the past 3 years since I moved to the area. We've had alot of clean up to do on our property. It's a great place to recycle scrap metal and put some gas money in your pocket. They do a decent job at keeping exit clear of debris but keep a look out for nails and such when leaving yard (only once did I see a nail on ground when leaving). Guy at scale is a cool dude and helpful. Once, an employee helped me clear my trailer. Was very appreciative since I'm usually solo on my dump runs.

Got quoted from owner on cats I told him I’d be back need to wait for this core buyer to text me back he said ok I come back later he tells me never mind then follows me to my car getting in my face saying I tried selling them somewhere else in town. edit: they were not stolen 😂 they were off the car that I was driving cuz I straight piped my car that you can clearly hear and you’re the best? Sunny slope pays more for cats then you and the core buyer offered $220 but they were in Oregon

Navy City Metals came by and picked up and old car (with a title) that we had sitting around. They were great with the communication for pick up. Driver was friendly, fast and safe. Good to know our car will be reincarnated as a McClaren.
- MMarci Wiegand
Our truck had to be scrapped as engine bad. My hubby called them and they got back to him right away about time they could come get it. In fact they even got it early and gave the amount they said they would. The driver was friendly and professional.

Okay I have read all the reviews and I weighed by options. I went there with a passive ... my idea was they simply do their job ...I was very impressed by the professionalism they were very limited to the information they could provide because it is scrap metal and that is what they deal with. Sometimes I feel as other companies deserve a second chance because of the fact that they consciously accepted the fact that some of the comments revert to non professionalism and at the same time they've got a pretty hard job so it works for me I got more back money than I thought I would...at the same time their job can nickel and dime them to well you know....just take the old batteries or what ever to then ...maybe don't expect so much ..gOoD job you guys .....
- BBrandie Daniel
They are great here! They get the job done and we always have a good time and few laughs when we go! They are pretty fast as they are a pretty busy plaxe but make sure everyone keeps moving and they pay appropriately never over payed never under payed very honest people. Only place that will get my services!!
- JJordan Fagg
I was standing there when David Jagger was asked by the manager to take a quick look at the the metal David dropped off in the number one pile and was full of tin /shread metal he immediately got confrontational and walked away. all the manager was trying to do was explain to David that next time please separate the number one metal from the tin metal because there are two different piles that you dump at he was extremely rude the manager paid him way over number one price to try to make him happy. I am a business owner myself and think it was a pretty cool thing to pay for something that they were losing money on to try to make him happy. the manager of Navy City also buys Christmas presents for any customer that brings children in with them out of his own pocket

One of the best places to take you scrap metal. Best price great staff and they don’t deal with bs. Always pay and very helpful. If your looking for a new home for your scrap call navy city !!!! You won’t regret it.
- NNorm Bolser
Actually very friendly, helpful, just plain nice people. I am delighted to be able recycle my collection of scrap metal and even get a few $ for the effort. I have been going here (to buy and sell metal) for over 40 years and it hasn't changed all that much.
- DDan Baasch
If I could give less that one star I would. Went here with scrap metal. Was told I had number 1 and number 2 scrap steel with 2 different prices. I could weigh out twice after unloading each type seperately. Chose to weigh out once, and just be paid at the lesser price. After unloading, weighed out and was told I didn't have enough weight to be cashed out. Was told I only had 250 lbs. and the minimum was 300. Left, and will never be back. This business is scum.
- SSean Ivarson
All the people there were rude and all seemed angry at me for no apparent reason to the point where they wouldnt even look me in the eyes when they spoke to me. Also I was totally ripped off, they didn't separate any of my more valuable metals from the less desirable ones and ended up paying me practically nothing. Honestly I'm more angered by the way I was treated by the employees than I am about the money although that just fueled the fire. Make the trip to Tacoma, it seems way more out of the way but it will be worth the trip.

Went here Saturday morning round 10am , dumped all my aluminum cans into the designated bins waited for 45 mins for someone to weigh my bins. No one showed interest that I had been waiting there. Found a guy who worked there and asked him to weigh my cans. He told me to guess the weight. Long story short he didn't weigh my cans , I got chump change. Never again will I go to this facility
- TTraci Fritzer
These guys are great to deal with. They're honest in their business practices and fair with their pricing. They are conveniently located and even open on Saturdays, I would definitely recommend them as the best option around.
- MMargaret McClintock
Very friendly and helpful staff, little confusing getting around. Only $20 for 500 pounds of brake rotors?
- JJoe Conlan
I gave them 4 stars because I like the quick in and out setup there. Drive in, weigh in, dump, weigh out, put a little cash in your pocket and go. But I have a question. Today (3/19/2016) I dumped off 1900 lbs of steel and drove away with $19.00. ?? Is scrap metal recycling really that low?
