If you are a tanker from Oakley and you're trying to get loaded please pull into the right. With your hazards on. Stop at the scale. This will allow the scale Master to take your weight. Then continue around the building very slowly with your hazards on and you will see a awning on your left. That is the scale house he will have your empty ticket. Repeat this process to get your loaded weight

Idk if it was because I went first thing in the morning, but the attendants were rude and cranky

I’ve been here a few times, the first time it’s a little confusing about where to go, but the staff are very friendly and helpful. You must have a valid I. D. to sell your scrape metal here, so don’t forget that. It’s quick and easy. They weigh your stuff, give you a ticket, then you take your ticket to a machine, scan it and the machine pays you cash on the spot. They also give everyone a free scratch off ticket as well.

I bring my scrap from my construction and destruction jobs. They have been pretty cool. But the intake guys have been a lil cranky last few times. Also doctoring the scales. The last three weights have been exactly the same. That's not cool

When I called for prices, Andrew told me he would beat or match competitor's prices. He kept his word. It was less than a dollar difference, but every penny counts when Social Security is your only income. Definitely a good experience!!

Easy to recycle for some extra cash. Depending on what you have, keep it sorted and it is an easy process. Metal steel, aluminum, different kinds of wire.

Like another review I was going to be just a few minutes past closing after driving an hour down to scrap some metal from my yard. I was in a panic but a gentleman I spoke to on the phone after I missed the exit said to just keep heading there. They were lifesavers today, thank you so much! Will definitely be coming back in the future!! The service was polite, quick, and the employees were all super friendly. Seriously cannot thank you guys enough!!

Got a quote for carbide price from a different company which was fair but expected a well known company like Smith to beat the competitors price easily! Boy was I wrong. Definitely got the lowest end of market value! I know carbide is not the most common scrap metal but maybe more research on the product would help give a fairer price. Other than, the system of operations there is well organized and runs smooth. I will be calling around more before coming here first based off of reputation.

The guys here are great, I like this Scrap Metal Place a little more than some of the others. The employees are nice and willing to help unload. Also I had a truckload (that i really couldn't unload for the next day) there was more traffic than I expected, I called to make sure that my couple minutes late wouldn't mean a wasted trip. The guy who answered the phone was nice and let me know that although they couldn't keep the computers on too long after closing time that the 3-5 minutes I was late didn't mean I would be turned away. They were a lifesaver! Other Scrap Yard have closed the gates up to 15 minutes before closing time, And I'm very grateful that open until 5 here doesn't mean you have to be cashed out by 5. Thank You Guys at Smith Metal for being so great!

Great place to unload your scrap! The guy that is doing all the directing is smart as hell and honest. He’s knows all the grades of metals. I thought I had just plain steel but he tested with magnets all over and told me “no you have stainless steel” he explained the difference and I made more on that load. Also advice to my fellow scrappers just because we think we have #1 grade of a metal doesn’t mean it will be graded at that. I learned my lesson with cooper. But you’ll always win in the end with Smith’s!!

I took a washer/dryer to Smith Iron and Metal - it was very easy and they paid me cash and gave me a free lottery ticket. The facility was very nice and all of the staff were nice and professional. This DEFINITELY beats taking the W/D to the dump!

Great guys to work with. Our scout troop takes a lot of metal in and they are always easy to work with. Thanks. Update. Went by today and Daniel is a pain. As long as he is on the scales I will go somewhere else. Don’t let him weigh you you will get screwed

Oh my lanta, I have found scrap heaven!!!! My husband always ends up with a lot of scrap metal as he owns his own company. Smith Iron & Metal is by far the best paying scrap yard we have been to! I love their attention to detail as they carefully separate the different metals. They definitely make sure you get the most bang for your buck!

Smith Iron and Metal was a pleasure to work with! We were cleaning out an office with a lot of old metal desks and filing cabinets. They dropped off the dumpster, picked it up, and prepared a fair and reasonable return for our scrap! The entire process was fast and easy, which is exactly what we needed! I've also used them on a drive thru basis. They unloaded my scrap, weighed it and paid me on the spot. Once again, the process was fast and easy and they provided a fair price!

Matt Creasey has been serving clients at Smith Iron & Metal for nearly a decade now and has always been an absolute asset to this organization. What I like most about the business is their commitment to doing business the right way and treating clients with respect. Matt makes these values his number 1 priority each and every day and the business is better for it. I don't have metals needs often - but when I do, I go to Smith Iron & Metal.
