Tried to recycle a catalytic converter that I switched out on my own truck. Called ahead. They told me I need the receipt from the purchase of my new catalytic converter. I brought that in and they told me my name has to be on the receipt. They didn't tell me that before they had me drive up there with my old catalytic converter. O'Reilly's doesn't print your name on your receipt. You should be honest with your customers and tell them what they actually need so they don't waste their time.

Brought 21 2x4 parabolic halogen light fixtures, easily 20 pounds each. I also took the time to remove the bulbs and ballasts. They weighed me out at 100 pounds even... It's probably 40 dollars lost by me and definitely a 2 star review for you.

Excellent company to work with! Service is provided quickly. Employees were incredibly simple to work with! The business came to my house and collected up my car, which I wanted scrapped for cash! I didn't have to produce a title or any other papers. I was instructed to pick up the check from the office. When I arrived at the office, the procedure was quite quick; they took my picture, cashed the check at the facility, and then sent me on my way with $125 in my pockets. Excellent service! I will definitely return if I need to scrap anything else in the near future!

Everyone was super helpful for a first time visitor! I was able to recycle my cans and tins very easily! Make sure you come in with a good bit of cans to make it worth it!

The best scrapyard in Raleigh, but take that for what its worth. If tou have scrap, sell it here, but if you have catalytic converters and the accompanying documentation required to sell them, gut em and sell the shells after crushing them flat. Keep that catalyst material and watch a youtube video on how to refine the platinum out and take your platinum to a precious metals recycler because what they are going to pay you is less than the fence pays the crackheads that steal them. Watch the videos and get YOUR platinum, and give these guys your scrap steel, copper, and aluminum. I just went through 45 min of verification that I really did buy new catalytic converters for my truck only to get gas money for bringing them my old catalytic converters, and that still didn’t equal what I just put in my tank, so because they wouldn’t give me a price on the phone, I LOST $30 by LEGALLY selling my catalytic converters to TT&E. NEVER again….

What I enjoy most about this scrap yard is the scrap art in the parking lot, but mainly Big Trudy the oversized wire barrel! Otherwise, I can only complain. First, I do not like the setup; you are required to drive over the big scale to enter the property whether you need to or not. I wouldn't mind it except I have to dig out my ID every single time, and keep track of a receipt while trying to unload at the small scales. Then, you have to drive past the scales and everyone waiting in line, make a U-turn, and carry your metal about 10 feet from your vehicle to the scale. They are very picky here and will waste your time examining every square inch of your once sorted metal that is now in one big pile. They don't communicate what prices they're paying, and if you ask or try to participate in the process, they push you aside. Finally, when you've sold half your metal (and reloaded the rest back into your car because you refuse to take their offer), you have to drive back over the scale, park in the front parking lot, get out of your vehicle, walk back into the same building, cash in your receipt, and "Say Cheese!" for the camera. The only time I can recommend going here is if Wall Recycling refuses to give you a good price on something, but just realize they're going to give you an even lower price, so don't waste your time.

I do HVAC for a living and have been coming here for over 10 years. Once you learn their system it's quite easy to get in and out and collect some easy money. They have always been fair with their prices and sometimes give me a break on stuff that hasn't been properly sorted. I will agree with some of the reviews that they could probably use a redesign for people selling the non ferrous metal as the line is always atrocious! Other than that it's a well run establishment and a very good business for the entire Raleigh area!

Helpful workers that jumped right in when they seen me struggling a bit to pull out all my metal. Tore down an in ground pool for a customer took off the metal as part of my extra pay for the job.

A piece of scrap metal in the back of one of their trucks flew off of an u secured bin, hit my car causing me to loose a light and drove off. No license plate was visible , and the driver kept driving. We were going south on I-40. we called state troopers and I do have a photo of the truck that the metal came from. I would like reimbursed as it popped 2 tires and caused a light to break open on my car. I just want to be reached out too.

Organized and efficient, but 1st timers should be careful. Their goal is to pay a competitive rate for whatever scrap you are dropping off. But that also means NOT paying more than you think something is worth. If you make the same mistake as me (admitting it's your first time and admitting you don't know exactly what materials you are dropping off) , then you should expect them to categorize* your materials as cheaply as possible. * They won't mess with the WEIGHT of your load, because they know any idiot can take a picture of the incoming loaded vehicle weight on the scales, then subtract the exit scale weight to get the weight of your dropped load. But they might do to you what they did to me, casually glancing at your materials, checking the metal composition with a magnetometer, and not noticing the difference between expensive black electroplating (like I had) and raw steel (which they call "unprepared steel" and paid me much less for). Because of the Scale-Drop-Scale setup, you really have to make your case before you drop off, about how your materials SHOULD BE categorized. IF AND ONLY IF YOU CAN PROVE YOU ARE RIGHT, then you are within your rights to sit there on the incoming scale and ask them to correct the material category. If they refuse, you have a right to drive through [WITHOUT dropping your load off] and just go to a different salvage yard. Regardless of which scrap yard you sell to, if you seem inexperienced, they are just betting that you will accept whatever materials category they give you. And unless you seem like a big customer (one likely to have many more loads to drop off), then they probably won't be bothered if you just drive away.

Do not take pumps here, they only give you steel price. Was given $52 for nearly 200lbs worth of pumps because of this when those pumps alone should have netted about $300. DO NOT GO HERE, we will not be returning.

I have used this scrap yard for years. I must say they have pretty fair pricing and pretty well organized facilities. My problem is with one of there guys that weighs your wire. He’s the older fella who runs the scales. He is always very critical and insulting but does it with a smile. Pull your truck closer, that too close. He always tries to talk down to you about organizing of your scrap. I’ve been doing this for 16 years and my dad was a metal fabricator. I am going to start looking for a better way to sell my scrap. I no longer will deal with this employee therefore I will no longer use this scrap yard. Anyone who has been here likely knows who I am talking about

Very impressed. I took several buckets up there and a couple of the guys in the back realized that we hadn't sorted it out correctly. They took the time to dump out a couple of the buckets and sort it so that we could get the most money for it; while patiently explaining to us how it should be sorted and answering our questions. And the lady at the window inside was awesome. She and my Dad got talking. Made him very happy.

Was my first time visiting today. I was navigated by workers, and they explained what goes were. They even helped me to unload heavy appliances. Very nice people working there. Easy process, spend less than 20 minutes, got cash - happy. Thank you
- NNathan Mlot
Very well run scrap yard. I have been to a few scrap yards in the triangle, and this is by far the best run and managed. The folks working here spoke highly of the management, and seemed genuinely happy to be at work. The employees all provide clear directions for first-timers, and the weigh-in and out process moves smoothly. Thank you!
- PPreston Ross
Yet again they're closed and left their listing to say that they are open.

Great place nice people very busy

Just went here for the first time. The process was super easy and I cannot say enough good things about the people. Everyone we talked to was incredibly nice and happy. Even my son said as we were walking out, "everyone here is super nice!" Great place!!
- JJon Palafox
Hands down cleanest scrap yard ever. Best value for your scrap metal compared to other local scrap yards. All the guys out back are always in good spirits and are more than willing to help. (Word of advice don't throw your scrap on the ground and make them pick it up). Front staff makes payment super quick and they will also put a smile on your face. This is the only scrap yard and should be yours as well to do business!

Visited TT&E for the 1st time yesterday. Very impressed with the organized process, efficiency, and friendly staff. From entry to exit, everything went very smoothly with a smiling, friendly, and most helpful group of employees. A big shout-out to Bobby (scales) and Robert (yard). Robert even went ouf of his way to write down where I should stay should I visit his homeland (the Dominican Republic). I'm now looking for other possible recycle materials so I can return to TT&E.
- CCraig Packer
I have been selling metals here since the 90s. The guys are always fast, helpful, and friendly. I have cheated on them a few times. I call competitors to check prices. TT&E is usually very consistent so for convenience sake I'll just go there.

place is no good. People who answer the phones are rude, everyone that was running a scale could hardly speak English. Had to wait in line to get to the main scale, wait in line to unload my truck, wait in line to weigh out, wait in line again to get to another line to sell my copper and aluminum. Oh and then wait in line again to get my money from a grumpy cashier. Almost got hit by a forklift that was carrying a bale of wire while waiting to get out of the scrap yard. Almost got ran over by another fork lift while unloading my aluminum. And almost got crushed due to the fact the forklift operator was trying to put a 3000 pound steel bin with 100 pounds of sheet aluminum on a 5x5 scale. Did not know what I was getting paid for anything until 6 lines later then find out, the prices I had been quoted on the phone were different then the prices I had gotten paid for. It doesn't matter to try and explain that to anyone running a scale because they don't speak English and you can't explain it to the cashier who you just spoke to a hour ago on the phone because they are to grumpy and busy trying to get everyone paid standing in line. Its not one-on-one, the place is a out of control mad house, its like walking into a wasp nest. You can't ever speak to a owner or a manager, good luck speaking to anyone at all. they are to busy or high an mighty. Place is crumby and a little to shady for me. I wouldn't recommend to anyone and frown upon the person who suggested I go here. If you have a good scrap yard that you are used to going to, stay there. I see this place and run as fast as I can without looking back. Good for big companies only, not for individuals.
- TTawa McNeil
My only complaint is the line that you have to sit in as well as the big trucks trying to squeeze past you. A bigger area for customers to pull up to and offload into a bin would be ideal.
- BBeth Harvie
We had never been to a scrap metal yard before but we had 3 old steel filing cabinets taking up space in our garage. We took them to TT&E and it couldn't have been easier, their employees quickly directed us through the whole process and we got a few bucks at the end! Great experience!

1st time going here, and idk if I will be back. Maybe I caught them at a really busy time or something. I was weighed in kind of fast, but after that is where it was a nightmare. I was directed to pull around to where the cranes were to unload. But soon as I made the turn their was about 3 vehicles in front of me waiting to unload. Another 3 vehicles actually unloading. After about 25 mins the first vehicle unloading pulled out, the next person went in. This process repeated and I had to wait a very long time to even unload my metal. Then as I'm trying to leave their was even more people trying to come in and get out, traffic jam big time. Meanwhile their was forklift operators zipping in between vehicles while carrying loads of something. One came very close to actually scraping the side of my van. Finally after about another 30 mins of waiting I made it to the scale to get out. Only to find out I have to park in go inside, and of course their was about 7 people in line trying to get paid. It took way to long to do all of this. I also called 2 hours before to check the rate of reg metal, and was told 3 cents a lb. so I get their and it's 2 cents a lb. asked the guy who weighed me in and he didn't have an answer. Not that 1cents makes a huge difference but just the principal of it.. I understand these prices fluctuate constantly but find it hard to believe it changed with an hour and 45 mins of me calling exactly. Not sure if owners read this or not but my advice to you guys would be to maybe open up some more room For the ppl trying to unload their metal. Allowing 3-4 vehicles to unload at 1 time definitely isn't working. If you just made enough room to allow maybe 2 or 3 more vehicles, I think it would make a world of difference. Again maybe I came at a bad time. I came on a Thursday around 3:15pm. Is their a better time to come?
- DDoug Belt
Great place for all your recycling. They also pay very completive prices for your recycling.
- DDavid Bunt
The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The scrap prices tend to be the best around. I use them regularly for our recycling needs.
- ggmanrocksteady
They always nice and friendly and they keep the area clean so you don't get nails in your tires
