This place is great - typically i pick up steel at PDM, but no more. Reno Salvage cuts to spec for no additional charge and does not charge for the +/- material off of the 20' spec size. great customer service and significantly cheaper than PDM for steel. great company and great people.

Felt like a criminal. Never scrapped anything in my life. I thought I would get a couple of dollars for my old irrigation valves so I headed to Reno Salvage Company. They require you to scan your ID, they require all information on your vehicle, they have cameras pointed at your face and a fingerprint is needed. All for $5 worth of brass. I understand you have thieves but your way of business treats the good customers as criminals. Plus they said brass was 1.10-1.40 and they quoted me at lowest price. I walked out the door saying you can keep it. Not worth it. I don’t need all my information in an unknown database when Identity theft is at all time high.

I brought in 7 lb of aluminum in 3 lb of copper and got $3 for it by far the lowest price I have came across just beware they were open on MLK day so that's where I brought it but I would just wait the extra day to get paid proper from somewhere else

Very disappointed. I had about 60 pounds of new wire to scrap. After reading the reviews, I called first to get a price on the scrap price. The lady on the phone told me the price was between $.15 and $1.50 a pound for insulated wire. She said that the guy in the yard would determine the price when he saw it. However, she told me that if it was new it would be on the higher end of the price spectrum. The wire was all new and had nothing attached at either end. The guy in the yard even commented on how nice the wire was. After it was unloaded and weighed (60 pounds worth) I went inside and found out they only gave me $.30 a pound. I saw multiple reviews about poor scrap value and it’s worth the drive to go to another location. I’d say the other poor reviews are 100% accurate.

I own a Junk Removal Company called Junk Magicians and we make at least 2 trips a week to Reno Salvage. Every time we roll through its always a good time. Yard staff is hilarious and very friendly and the office gal's are the best! Very streamline weigh in weigh out process with plenty of room to maneuver our trucks and trailers. Will not use any other scrap yards in Reno. Reno Salvage is the best!

Went to turn in some #2 scrap insulated copper wire. The guy that looked at it told me they would only pay me $0.30 a pound. Seemed very low to me so I went somewhere else and got over $1.50 a pound. Not sure how they come up with their prices but seems like they were trying to screw me over. Won’t go back there again!!

One of the great things about Reno salvage is how when you order steel the wait time for your material is only minutes and it’s brought to you in sizes/lengths you can transport unlike the competitors who only sell 20 foot lengths, won’t load that long material onto a pickup rack and won’t let you have material you paid for after 3:00. All thanks to they’re friendly staff.

I went to the new metals division to get some aluminum angle for a solar panel project. The price was much less than big box home improvement stores, and the material was good quality 6061 t6 aluminum. They cut my material to length and I was back on the road in about fifteen minutes. The folks working there made me feel welcome, which is not all that common these days.

I always had a great experience with them over the years. They are pretty handy if you’re on that end of town but definitely got some attitude from the personnel and they were not always wearing masks and more expensive than PDM. So 1-2 stars. Still purchased from them this time to save time. Would not go out of my way though as a contractor to go here.

I've been here quite a few times now. This place is probably the best scrap yard in town, but it depends what day you go in otherwise it's the same as the others. If you get any of the younger guys at the scale you'll have a very pleasant experience, as they genuinely want to get you the best prices and will thus help you sort your metals out and take their time to help you out. If you get any of the older guys at the scale, I highly recommend you come back another day. They don't care about their customers at all and will purposely downgrade your scrap (they recently graded my cast aluminum as sheet aluminum even though I sorted it myself very well, as well as another few occurrences longer ago, which is why I'm now making this review and recommendation). The administrative staff in the office are all fantastic. Overall, only come here on the days the younger guys are in, otherwise hold off.

Best scrap yard I've found in Reno. Friendly knowledge staff that is willing to help get you the best price for your hard work. The lot is a little small but they did a great job moving everyone around. Highly satisfied, thank you!

The experience was normal and professional. The question of logic regarding the recycling of aluminum is another proposition. The $9.25 I received represents maybe 15% of the value of newly manufactured aluminum bars I would pay at the retail level. Recycling does not pay. Further these materials are now shipped to China and India. Then as new aluminum material the US buys it back.

Reno Salvage has been around as long as I can remember for a business to stay around that long says everything about them. They treat their customers right with fair market prices, customer service is beyond reproach. Melissa is very customer orientated. I’ll do business with Reno Salvage before I do business with any other scrapyard in the Reno/Sparks area. THANK YOU RENO SALVAGE

Wow, we drove from Dayton thinking we were going to get some money from a fifth wheel trailer hitch that weighs over 100 lbs and 12 wire mesh for concrete. We walked away with $2.55! We wasted gas, time and money on our recycle! Not worth it! They do not pay! Call ahead to find out how much they will give you before you waste your time and money!
