Absolutely terrific educational museum. Exceptional interpretive museum and signage. Signs everywhere at the fort. Plenty of artifacts. Delightful museum and gift shop prior to walking down to the fort. The fort is located in a spacious field near the ocean a magnificent site was chosen by the founders. Buildings authentic and in great shape. Rooms filled with authentic artifacts. TRULY A MUST SEE to understand the development of the area and the impact from Russian settlers.

Visited Fort Ross and it was a special experience, especially coming here as a Russian. It’s amazing to see real pieces of history preserved so well. I was pleasantly surprised to find books in Russian from the Society of Lovers of Ancient Writing dated 2022, along with classic Russian chocolate like Babaevsky and Alyonka. A great place to connect with the past and feel the history with your own hands. Highly recommend — especially if you’re Russian.

Wow. What a cool place. Who knew this was a historic fort back in the day. Russian/American endeavor. Whoever knew Russians had a foothold. Such a wonderful and educational place to visit. The surrounding beach views are amazing. Also, America's very first windmill. The fort was built as a supporting effort for exploration and support, trade and foothold establishment. Check it out on Google or YouTube. Amazing construction. Must see. A national park. No tickets required. Minimal parking fee/park entrance fee.
