This place is great, I went for the first time today (really my first time recycling anything for money aside from a few times doing aluminum cans as a kid) and it went about as smooth as I could have hoped and I left feeling like I got a great deal. I brought in 3 tubs of copper tubing, I wasn't totally sure if it was all #1, #2, or some kind of mix but I separated it as best I could. Turns out it wasn't even necessary because they just gave me #1 prices for all of it! I called another place before coming here and they told me that all copper tubing is #2, which didn't sound right to me but maybe I just didn't know what I had? Anyway, great place with great people working there. I will definitely be back!

I was looking at the comments and a lot of people were saying bad things , I was too scared to go there and sell my cans and car wheels , I really liked the education of the people there and the patience they have , I recommend it to everyone , the price was very good but than I thought, in many places I looked pay much less than them. I just didn't take pictures of the car's wheels, they pay very well for the wheels. thank you

Great place to sell scrap metal. They have a nice observation area also where it’s very fun for the kids to watch the big machines working.

Since the can recycler in Monroe shut down, I've been reluctant to go elsewhere until I finally ended up here. All of the employees I spoke with were very helpful (some seemed a bit standoff-ish, but it was VERY BUSY that day). They're definitely willing to work with "newbies"! Payment is straightforward and prompt. Scale seemed fairly accurate.

I brought in alot of copper I had saved. I took the time to sort it into different grades to make it easier. It was my first time going here because a friend said it was a good place.. The employees at the copper selling area were very unprofessional. Also either the scale was broken or they purposely shorted me. I left there feeling very uncomfortable, I feel like they didn't weigh my copper right or pay me enough for what I gave them and the experiance was so bad I considered not collecting copper anymore. The management at this place needs to adress these type of complaints because after this and doing more research iv heard similar stories from people. The employees and the way they conduct buisness felt shady and unfair.

They were backlogged and the scales werent working they only were using 1 of the scales and the line was INSANE. After waiting over a hour watching people cut in line the guy finally called me over. He was weighing my copper and one of the workers(clearly overhwlemed) accidently picked up one of my buckets thinking it was weighed already and threw it in their huge bins. When I got upset they got attitudes with me like it was my fault. When it was all said and done I got $115 and left there not wanting to collect copper anymore. Friends and people I work with recommend I come there and the experience was a nightmare. I'm sure they are great when they want to be but if they are backlogged, only using 1 scale and the line is around the building I wouldn't recommend bringing anything.

Great yard. Rare to find a metal recycling facility that is traded publicly and actually carries legit policies. Prices are fair and they are willing to negotiate. I found out if I questioned why certain prices were low, they were willing to explain and eventually give you the benefit of the doubt if you ask. Ask to talk to one of the buyers because they definitely want your business. They even set me up an account under my name so they can track what I bring in so they can give me an increase in pricing down the road. You can text, email, or call one of the buyers and have pricing set up under your account before you arrive...pretty cool. Clean facility and well organized. You get paid for every pound and scales are certified. They are up to date and compliant with all laws so all you have to do is bring in a drivers license and you will get paid out in cash or check the same day. I'm not sure what the other reviews are talking about when mentioning Pick N Pull cause they are just a subsidiary under the Schnitzer umbrella and have nothing to do with their metal recycling business. I like that the facility is paved, haven't gotten a flat tire yet while bringing my scrap in.

This place is the best around. The people here are super helpful and don't try to rip you off like a lot of other recycling centers. They're fast too and they seem to enjoy doing business with their customers. This isn't even my local recycling center but I make the drive down there because that's how much better this place is compared to any of the others.

I brought 550lbs of steel today and they gave me a payout of 7.85$ this place is a total scam and they wouldn't tell me the payout amount unless i would sign the cashiers form. I would of gone and picked up my steel and went else where if I knew the amount I was going to be given. I will never go back here again. I should of known better after reading the reviews. do not gives these crooks your business.

I have called twice to get information on having my scrap metal picked up and left messages both times. These instances were weeks apart and have not received a call back. I know I am not leaving a message for the wrong person because I spoke to an operator and explained my issue and they transferred me to the "right person"

They've got the best prices around I don't think anyone or anywhere else can really beat these guys on prices being paid out! Not to my knowledge or looking around have I been able to find anyone paying more than Schnitzer Steel does undoubtedly! 🤯🤩❤️

This place pays significantly better than any other scrap yard in the vicinity. The two reviews before mine from the last six months failed to call and check the price of steel before bringing it to the yard, or they would realize the price of steel is only about $20 a ton right now worldwide, therefore they did not get ripped off. I always call and ask; keep your metal if the price is too low and call in a month or two. Overall, a great scrap yard!

Today I spent about an hour sorting and arranging my plastic bins of copper, aluminum, stainless steel, and coated copper wire into my pickup truck. I drove for 45 minutes on I-405 and backed up near a scale at the non-ferrous recycle area. Immediately a very tan guy with black hair, tattoos, a ridiculous looking beard, and an attitude began telling me in a loud voice that I can't sort my stuff here. I told him it's already sorted. Then he asks what I have. Before I could answer he asks if it's clean or dirty. I told him that if it's dirty at all it's barely dirty. He yells back "it's dirty". Then he yells that everything has to be unloaded into some giant steel bins a forklift would have to bring to the scale because what I had was too heavy for him to deal with by hand because it's too much work. The average weight of each metal type I was recycling was under 40 pounds. I smiled at him and said I would just go somewhere else and I apologized for whatever I did that upset him so much. It was clear that I didn't matter to this guy. And I knew he'd do his best to piss me off even more so I left. I got back on 405 and trudged 45 minutes back home. Now I'm stuck with a load of scrap metal that I'll have to take to Seattle tomorrow. There are some very helpful, kind, and pleasant people working at Schnitzer but I didn't see any of them today.

As a lot of people do now days, I read reviews of Schnitzer steel and called ahead of time for the scrap prices of the metals I was selling. Negative reviews seemed to be about lack of knowledge on prices or just human impatience.I received the highest prices of any place I called, even Pacific Iron & Metals.$2.30 per pound for my copper, when I was quoted $2.28 per pound. Not bad, so just be patient, the world is still on its axis.

Tired of getting screwed - I ordered a very large scrap dumpster for work. $240 pick up and delivery fee (which is deducted from your scrap payment) which was not an issue because a bin full would equate to a bit of cash, right? After fee was deducted, we were issued a check for $100 . I have had $500 checks for the measly bit I hauled myself on a 2 ton flatbed! Last weekend was the final straw - personal scrap steel run from home = 850 lbs and a payout of $6.30 ! Definitely not worth my time or gas. Somethings definitely wrong down there

  • They were super great. It was my first time in there and I looked like a fool driving around not knowing what to do. Very friendly and understanding. Alot of hard working people in there making a living by working in a high danger zone..

I'm not sure why all the bad reviews, I call ahead tell the buyer exactly what I have And I get what I am promised. So long as you follow directions well and listen you should not have any issue, We bring schintzer all our steel and aluminum gutter scrap. For steel on average we get about 60 bucks a ton. Steel is down in price everywhere. I get more at schintzer then seattle iron and metal I drive 14 less miles and avoid the drive on I-5 it is a win win, Don't be rude call a buyer and be clear about what you are trying to sell.

Oh my why didnt I know about this place earlier... I had some aluminum and other metal scrap to recycle and was referred to this company.. Thank You Kona.. yes this place pays more for scrap metals than other places... I will continue to use them for all my recycle stuff. FRIENDLY SERVICE. .. helpful and very professional . GABRIEL was a great help in sorting non ferrous vs other metals.. Thank You ...

Like others before me, I would rate them zero if possible. Called ahead, told them exactly what I had to scrap, they told me if I cut it into small manageable pieces, they'd pay $.38/lb. I get there and get it all unloaded (5000lbs of material) and then they tell me the best they can do is $.22/lb. It's a crappy way to treat their customers, and based on all the other comments, this is their business model.

Gabriel at noon ferrous is a stellar gentleman he is helpful and knowledgeable about the material he must have been taught well from his previous lead in the non ferrous department. The yard foreman Matt Smith is kinda of a meany he hurt my feelings and almost.made me cry I think his mom should have put him in the corner or time out more often. But Arron Smith his brother prob took all the punishment from there parents because Arron is a good guy and helpful too Arron and Gabriel should both get raises in there pay. Matt needs to sit in the corner think about his mistakes and his hurting people's feelings and have his birthday taken away.

This entire company is a pile of crap ripoff operation. They bought out almost every scrap yard in the area and renamed them Pick N Pull, doubled the prices, and tacked on a ton of fees for everything. Last time I was there they wanted almost $200 for a bunch of plastic body pieces, and $30 of that was a core charge! A core charge on plastic, really? What in the hell are they going to do with a pile broken trim pieces?? I mistakenly figured that maybe their recycling operation would be better but unsurprisingly I was disappointed. I tried to take them almost 300 pounds of copper wire that had a lead sheathing on the outside and they told me they couldn't take it, unless I separated it. How in the world do they expect me to separate that?? I don't have the equipment or time to melt down 300 lbs of crap to make $40 at their ripoff prices. This whole company is a greed driven operation that needs to be boycotted.

Went there today to drop off a old washer and dryer. My first time there and was not sure where i needed to go and stopped to ask a guy working in the area by the 3 small scales, and asked him. He was visibly irritated with me from the start, and said in an jerk tone " turn around, go back over the scales, so your not in anyones way". There was nothing going on in the area at that moment. So i guess asking for help or directions is too much to ask for. No customer service here, and every one gives you the stink eye! will not be returning..

Terrible experience here. The entrance gate isn't marked as such. No signs explaining what to expect, troll at the scale house didn't explain even when asked. The sign saying watch for the green light is a joke- 2 passes thru the scale- WHAT green light? Which scale? Customer is made to feel like a dumbass at every step. Repeat customers probably have learned the routine the hard way. Newbies should just stay away.

Schnitzer steel and the team are big time crooks. This is a bureaucratic greedy and dishonest business. They bought the pull-a-part network and transformed it into a money squeezing operation. Whatever part you buy there they charge you all kind of stupid fees and of course core deposit even if it's a piece of plastic. The core charges are very high but when you take an aluminum part or copper at their location in Woodenvile you are paid a few cents. Bottom line if you have just useless scrap metal, like steel taking it to Woodenville isn't much of a deal, but if you have aluminum, copper, brass or any of the soft metals (aka nonferrous ) don't bring it here! For aluminum you'll get paid same or even less than scrap steel. They ripped me off several times. They will tell you the aluminum is dirty or has impurities or has a small steel piece attached to it that deems it unclean and you get paid 20 cents a pound instead of the standard 50 cents to one dollar. The folks at the nonferrous station are trained to sort the metals in a way to rip off the customers. For a full trunk of aluminum all I got was $18. I shoudl have thrown it into a dumpster instead of wasting my time and gas to take to Schnitzerville and get a few dollars. They also cheat the customers on the scales. Just today I brought in some copper wire and before heading out I put it on the scales. Weighed 5.4 pounds but when those schmucks at shnitzer put it on the scale they said it only weighed 4 pounds. These people are fraudsters and they take advantage of everyone who brings in scrap metal by cheating at the scales. The prices they pay are the lowest anywhere. Take my word and don't bring your scrap metal to shnitzers. You'll regret doing it.
