I work as a plumber and bring my wster heaters there a few days a week and I have to say I go there because the girl behind the glass who gives us our tickets and takes our weight is the best part of my week. She doesn’t even know . Plus they pay good and don’t play around like shupan or Omni or Kmr. Even if they did I would go there just to see that sweet and gorgeous woman.

Called about scraping a catalytic converter and the guys were extremely helpful,. I don't do much scraping so I was kinda out of my element, smooth transaction and will be back again. Thank You All.

Office people are nice but if you don't know what your doing they rip you off

Absolutely amazing people who work there! The lady in the office Emily is so good with our son when he helps he absolutely loves her. There is also a gentleman who works in the building who always asks where our little helper is when he's not there or just gives him a big high five, when he is there with us.

Been scrapping in Grand Rapids for many years. I’ve used West Side, Enterprise, and Padnos. West Side has been my favorite by far, the owners and their workers all are helpful. Abed has helped me many times and is just a very nice guy.

Decent prices, comparable to others in town however customer service was bad. Waiting to be helped and watched an employee throw a tool? phone? Who knows what because they had a hissy fit. Heard another employee laugh so common occurrence? Not expecting a glamorous five-star atmosphere at scrap yard but also not expecting flying objects from a mad man.

Depends on who you talk to. Owner Joe and scale guy tried to rip me on my cats. I left and came back another day with the same cat and Jr gave me pricing that was double what Joe tried to give me. Lesson learned never go back unless Jr is confirmed to be on the premises. Owner should know more than his employees but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Scaling in and out was easy. The path through the yard was relatively clean and I didn’t have to worry about puncturing a tire. An employee helped me unload my scrap and I got my money from the office quickly and trouble free. Nice people, good location, good prices. Good experience overall.

Westside is my favorite ppace to take back scrap metal and i like 45 minutes north of grand rapids they pay more than any other junkyard ive been to and they aren't picky like they are further north.my favorite thing about this place is you can take as much copper as you want and they pay you cash no waiting for a check

After leaving here you wouldn’t know the country is in the midst of a pandemic. Hardly to zero masks worn by employees or other customers. A couple employees smoking while on the job and not washing their hands afterward. Customers in line to cash ticket were not distancing, office lady not wearing a mask with other folks in there not wearing masks and no sanitizing is atm machine. I did use my own sanitizer. Have been here a few times before with boyfriend and typically friendly, quick service. Will go to other yards that are implementing more safety policies. Also price we received was less than what we were told 5 days prior and when received price, the man on the phone mentioned it would hold for another week.
