My family and I were camping in June Lake when we realized the radiator in the truck was leaking coolant and leaking fast. I call Jorge at Figueroa’s Auto in Mammoth Lakes. He was upfront and recommended getting the truck towed. He said he’d take a look even though he was already super busy. After the truck was dropped off he was quick to diagnose and confirm that the radiator was indeed busted. He ordered a new one from bishop that night and had the new one the next morning. My radiator was covered by warranty on the truck and he even dealt with the warranty company by sending photos and videos of the radiator. It’s only him and his helper so doing that while working on his other projects was amazing. He had the new radiator installed and I was on the road back to June Lake before I knew. Jorge is a super nice guy. I highly recommend him for any repair. He’s honest and upfront about everything. Thank you Jorge and to his son Pedro for their help. And thanks to his helper too. I didn’t catch his name.

Disappointing and Dangerous Experience I was traveling through the Eastern Sierras when I realized I needed my front brake pads replaced. Thankfully, Figueroa’s was able to fit me in for a same-day appointment — that responsiveness earns them one star. Unfortunately, everything after that was a letdown. I was told the service would take 2 hours, which gave us a chance to enjoy Mammoth Village. Instead, the job took over 6 hours, with no proactive updates — just waiting around with vague reassurances. More concerning, though, were the issues with the actual service: 1. Brake Safety: Somehow, air was introduced into the brake lines during a simple pad replacement — something that shouldn’t happen. They couldn’t properly bleed the brakes and claimed the issue was with my vehicle, which had no prior problems. The result was a dangerously soft brake pedal feel. 2. Improper Installation: Most alarmingly, they severely overtorqued one lug nut and under-tightened others. This caused one stud to snap entirely and left two lug nuts on the same wheel dangerously loose. While driving on the highway, the wheel began to shake violently and nearly came off. I had to pull over immediately and get towed to another shop for urgent repairs. They may be one of the more readily available shops in Mammoth — and in a pinch, that matters. But beware: convenience came at the cost of quality and safety in my case. This wasn’t just poor service — it was dangerous. I’m very fortunate nothing worse happened.

Really solid and trustworthy shop. I came in with an issue that easily could have cost thousands of dollars and they diagnosed it and repaired the problem for next to nothing. Would definitely recommend this shop to anyone in mammoth that needs work done.
