Excellent customer service. From the first phone call everyone was friendly and very informative. They verified they had the correct part for me and sent me photographic proof. More than a reasonable pricing. Facility is very clean and tidy, easy parking. Small family American Business, it's good to support companies like this.

When they're open, I've gotten good parts at decent prices. But the posted hours of 8:30 - 5:00 are not dependable. They want you to make an appointment for them to open the door for you. Nick, the owner, is a decent guy, but I will probably take my business elsewhere because I can't count on them being open when I need parts.

Nick was very helpful, and I found the hard to find parts I was looking for on my 2003 Chevy Impala. Thanks Nick!

I ordered a transmission for a Toyota...they sent the wrong one. I was In a pinch at that point and had to have the correct 1. I called and spoke to Pedro, He got right on it. I had to drive there from Tranquillity, which was a long drive....but they got the right one the same day. Pedro was very apologetic and I was very envious of the weather in San Luis..I'll be doing business with them again soon.

Went over there to check out some parts for a van I’m working on. Had tons of parts. But when I went back inside to check pricing on all 3 parts he was asking about double what all the other yards are asking. When I told him I would pass then scoffed at me and told me I’m wasting his time. Learn some retail skills! I ended up spending my $500 at max auto in nipomo.

They participate in the Old Car Buyback Program - an easy way to put $1,000 in your pocket while helping the environment. Tara & the rest of the staff are friendly & professional.

Owner is a liar & a scammer. Called him out on it politely & was getting very frustrated even in front of another customer. Terrible way to run a business & treat customers. Lied that he was open when he wasn’t. Then proceeds to tell me he opens whenever he wants to. Lied that he charged me $50 when he charged me $100.

First things first. This is not a “pick n pull”. Dude did not let us walk freely around the yard. Unless we would hold hands with the front desk guy.so he can watch our every move. But 2 other gentleman were walking freely? Rude from the moment we walked in. Came in looking for one head light housing for my pick up. Followed him to the back. Picked out the most faded headlight pressure I’ve ever seen. Want 65$ for it. (eBay sell whole set for 75$) When we walked right by the same headlight on a different truck in better condition. But no he offered me a poorly looking one. After my brother made his purchase. We said thank you. The gentleman said noting. Went to a yard in AG, same part 15$, need to treat ppl better bud.

Abysmal Customer Service Over the phone. A general attitude that they are too lazy to check for parts for vehicles they have on their 5 Acre lot. They love to mention they're on 5 acres, but their service is the opposite of 5 stars. When visiting in person, they were overpriced and the service was still garbage. Great Lot to visit if you're looking to get overcharged and treated like your wasting their time.

Weak customer service. The staff doesn't seem knowledgeable or even willing to help much. I almost left due to them still having their closed sign up, bit seen me and turned it around.

So I had damaged my work truck bed. I needed one ASAP to continue the job. I went down there with the existing bed and they helped me take it off and set the new one on so I can at least strap it on the frame (it was closing time) those employees didn't complain about it being late, they kept at it untill everything was good. Drove an hour there and back. Great customer service, price is certainly higher but definitely worth it. Awesome selection of auto parts as well.

Paid 100$ for a rim off of a salvaged 2008 Camry spoke to a salesman named nick at 9:44 he was very polite and stated that the rim would be 25$ and I proceeded to tell him that I got paid around 11am and would be there to pick up politely said okay see you then watch out for quotes over the phone cause they want proof that the conversation happened

Needed a transmission pronto. Called everywhere in the county; Pedro at San Luis Auto Salvage found a low mileage transmission for me in WA state. They quoted me a week to ship, but it arrived in just a few days. They organized with the shop to pick up the trans and handled everything for me. Top notch experience. Part is solid and car is on the road ahead of schedule.

First off this isn't a pick and pull yard like most. You can come in and they'll lookup the vehicle and parts information to see if they have it (fairly well organized), they'll write down the availability and location, they'll have someone wall out with you and they will pull the part after you choose what part you want. Prices are a little higher than pick n pull yards but their service is better. So far I've had pretty good luck getting the parts I needed. I went last week for 2 cross bars for a jeep roof rack, got to choose from 4 different jeeps and picked the ones I liked, was $53.

Not your typical junkyard. Customers not allowed on salvage car premises. So that means no walking around, looking for parts you may need like most junkyard. Must call in and ask for part availability.

I only give 4 stars because they didnt have my parts not totally there fault. But the guy at front desk was more than helpful. He found my parts at other places even let me take a picture of the computer screen to keep for my search. Very nice and very helpful. I would go back anytime and would enjoy it if they are that helpful every time. Great group of people I met and that's hard to find these days.

Sergio was no help at all and he wanted the part number and manufacturer for the power steering pump. Well, I found it and call giving him the information. He said he would call back which he never did. But, he did quote me a price of $75. So, I call back, and he said he had someone pulling the pump and he wanted to check the numbers and again said he would call back which he did saying it would be another 20 min. That was the last I heard from him. Bottom line. Sergio needs to get his act together and I bought my pump from one of your competitors after waiting till 5 pm and having no contact from anyone at San Luis Auto Salvage. You lost a customer. I'm a businessman. You had ALL DAY to get this right, and you did not.

The owner of this establishment obviously cares very little about managing a successful business. Shame. This could be quite profitable.

I have an old 2000 toyota tundra and I have been to many junk yards. I live in MD, and I was lucky enough to find my front fender in the color needed at San Luis Auto Salvage in CA. Dominic was incredible from the first time I called to when the fender was received in MD. He helped me from verifying the part to being there when my scheduled shipping was set to pick it up. He certainly went far and above helping me. The fender arrived, its on my truck, and I could not be happier. I would certainly go back, if Dominic is helping me. Thank you, Dominic!

These guy helped me out in a real pinch the I needed one little clip to get my family home on a road trip. They had sold out of all the engines and clips that match what I needed. Determine the gentleman walked me to another section of the yard with small engines of the same company dug through and found the same clip fro a different part. Clean yard, kind and knowledgeable.

I have purchased a number of small parts over the years at this salvage yard. They are very friendly and have let me dig around the cars to find what I needed. In one case I had a bit of work to get a dash out of a van, and they had a nice guy work with me for like 30 minutes to get it out. The prices they have charged me for things including the dash have always been more than fair. They dont have an enormous selection of cars but it is amazing how much is stuffed in there. I come from LA and grew up as a car guy. I just about lived in ratty salvage places in Irwindale as a kid. I know the whole gig pretty well, so I feel pretty good saying that this is an especially nice salvage place.

They sold me a SALVAGE vehicle in 2014 but did not tell me it was a SALVAGE and did not put"SALVAGE" on the TITLE! !! Also they did not report the mileage. They sale cars that are not salvage so I assumed it was merely an "AS IS". I paid $2300 for it. I had to pay another $2300 for repairs within 6 months. That is when the mechanic told me it was a "SALVAGE"!!! They had actually put plastic parts in it instead of metal. I am in the process of seeking damages through the DMV. I have only driven this car less than 4000 miles since I bought it!!! BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN DEALING WITH THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!! THIS IS YOUR WARNING! DON'T GET TAKEN BY YHEM!!!

I started pricing a tail gate for my 1999 Ford F -150 at salvage yards around SLO county, 2 on shrrtidan road wanted $125, & 145. I called San Luis auto sasalvage, they quoted me $200. Just a little high, they are very high on their prices, never buy from them go to Sheridan road Timos is much friendly and cheaper

Good luck dealing with these crooks. They sold me a bad engine and won't do anything g about it!!! They tell me it's "yours and you can do whatever you'd like to do with it!" To top it off, they overcharged my debit card and will not refund my money. Patrick and Pedro are bottom of the barrel and compulsive liars. This is the place to come if you want to get ripped off. You've been warned of what's in store for you if you do business here. Caveat emptor!

It's a junk yard. They take cars and part them out. Duh, that's why you're looking at this... Ok so to the real. They might let you walk out and find your parts without tools so you can verify it is what you need. Then go back and depending on part or person you can go pull them out they will schedule a person to do it for you. There time is different than your need for replacement motor, trans, axel ect.. so keep in mind Friday is not the day to show up wanting to get your truck in the road over the weekend. Also, don't buy unless you know it's your correct part! 50% restocking fee for something that is incompatible really sucks. Find what wrenches you need to pull the part on your vehicle and become familiar with it before calling or showing up. They will help you pull a part of you need it but like I said, dropping a motor is one thing, they won't let you have the chance to drop it on yourself.

I don’t even want to give them 1 star but I had to in order to write a review! I have family in this industry and this place was so very upsetting! They sold something that was damaged!! I will never recommend them to anyone in fact I’ll let people know what kind of business they run!!
